Alvin and the Chipmunks

download game free pc Alvin and the Chipmunks is an animated music group created by Ross Bagdasarian, Sr. in 1958. The group consists of three singing animated chipmunks: Alvin, the mischievous troublemaker, who quickly became the star of the group; Simon, the tall, bespectacled intellectual; and Theodore, the chubby, impressionable sweetheart. The trio is managed by their human father and confidant, David Seville. In reality, David Seville was Bagdasarian’s stage name, and the Chipmunks themselves are named after the executives of their original record label, Liberty Records: Alvin Bennett (the president), Simon Waronker (the founder and owner), and Theodore Keep (the chief engineer

The Chipmunks act began with recordings first brought to life in Bagdasarian’s 1950s novelty recordings under the name David Seville and the Chipmunks. For stage purposes, such as during an appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show, Bagdasarian lip-synched the words of “David Seville” in front of a small puppet theater, with puppets of the three Chipmunks also lip-synching. The puppets looked similar to the Chipmunk illustrations on the covers of some of the group’s 45 RPM records. The characters were an unprecedented success, and the singing Chipmunks and their manager were given life in several animated cartoon shows, using redrawn, anthropomorphic chipmunks, and eventually motion pictures.
The voices of the group were all performed by Bagdasarian, who sped up the playback to create higher pitched voices. This oft-used process was also not entirely new to Bagdasarian, who had also used it for two previous novelty song projects, including “The Witch Doctor,” but it was so unusual and well executed it earned the trio two Grammy Awards for engineering. Although the characters were fictional, they did release a long line of actual albums and singles, with “The Chipmunk Song” becoming a number-one hit single in the United States. After Ross Bagdasarian, Sr.’s death in 1972, their voices were performed by Ross Bagdasarian, Jr. and Janice Karman in all subsequent incarnations except for the 2007 CGI/live-action film adaptation, when they were voiced by Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse McCartney respectively

KOF ’97 follows the same format as the previous KOF games, but introduces two distinct playing styles which the player can select before choosing their team: Advance and Extra. Advance mode is based on the previous game in the series, KOF ’96, but features a revamped Power Gauge. Instead of charging the Power Gauge, the Power Gauge is now filled whenever the player strikes the opponent or by performing Special Moves. The player can stock up to three Power Gauges. The player can use one stock of the Power Gauge to perform a Super Special Move or enter a “MAX” mode, in which the player’s defensive and offensive strength are increased. Performing a Super Special Move while in MAX mode will make the player perform a more powerful Super Special Move.
Extra mode is based on the first two games in the series, KOF ’94 and KOF ’95. Like in those games, the player fills the Power Gauge by charging it or defending against the opponent’s attacks. After the gauge is filled, the player enters MAX mode and like in Advance, their character’s offense and defense will increase. The player can only perform Super Special Moves in MAX mode or when the life gauge is near empty and flashing red. When the player performs a Super mode in MAX mode while the life gauge is flashing red, then the Super move will be even more powerful. The Emergency Roll maneuver from KOF ’96 used in Advance mode is replaced by the side-step from KOF ’94 KOF ’95

Despite the events at the end of the previous game, the KOF tournament was a huge commercial success and sparked a worldwide fighting craze. Within a few months of the tournament ending, various large corporations had held smaller KOF tournament qualifiers and constructed special KOF stadiums around the world, building the excitement up for the next tournament. News of the tournament spread through every form of media and fans and new fighters from across the globe come to watch the preliminary matches.
All of the characters from the previous game return, with the exception of the Boss Team (which was disbanded after its first appearance), Kasumi Todoh (who went off to search for her father), and Mature and Vice (who were killed by Iori Yagami after he was possessed by the Riot of Blood at the conclusion of the previous pc game
Chizuru Kagura, the sub-boss in the previous game, takes Kasumi’s place in the Women Fighters Team, while Geese Howard’s underling Billy Kane, who previously participated in The King of Fighters ’95 tournament, returns to join forces with female agent Blue Mary and wanted felon Ryuji Yamazaki (both from Fatal Fury 3) to form the unlikely “’97 Special Team”. Iori returns as a Team Edit character along with Shingo Yabuki, a high school student who patterns his fighting style after his idol and reluctant mentor Kyo Kusanagi. An alternative version from Kyo with his pre-KOF ’96 moveset also appears as a hidden character.
Iori and Leona will fight as sub-bosses characters in the Riot of the blood curse depending of which characters the player is using. A team of all new characters also appears in the form the “New Faces Team”, consisting of bandmates Yashiro Nanakase, Shermie, and Chris. The New Face Team will be revealed to be the last three servants from Orochi during the arcade mode. Additionally, they fight as sub-bosses characters having enhanced abilities than their common forms. Once they are beaten, Orochi will possess Chris’s body to fight as the last boss character.
Development
In order to decide who would become the members of the ’97 Special Team, three polls were conducted by the videogames journals Weekly Famitsu, Gamest and Neo Geo Freak, in which readers voted who was the character they wanted to see in the team. The Neo Geo Freak’s winner was Billy Kane and Famitsu’s winner was Ryuji Yamazaki. Blue Mary was first in the Gamest poll, winning to Duck King from the Fatal Fury series who was second. Additionally, the three journal created a team, which players can view an image of them after beating the game in the Japanese version. The special team created by the Neo Geo Freak’s staff was a team of fire wielders: Billy, Kyo Kusanagi, and Mai Shiranui. The Gamest’s team created was composed of Terry Bogard, Blue Mary and Joe Higashi, while Famitsu created a team composed of Chang Koehan, Choi Bounge and Ryuji Yamazaki.[1] Although Blue Mary had already two designs in the Fatal Fury series at this point (her original Fatal Fury 3 design and her Real Bout Special design), her designer wanted to use her Fatal Fury 3 design as he liked it more.[2] In order to have all of the eight servants from Orochi confirmed by this game, Yamazaki was chosen to be the new member as the staff noted him to be a good villain and liked that he was similar to a snake (as the ancient Orochi was a giant snake). In order to adapt him to KOF, the game planner had to provide new moves to Yamazaki. The new moves were initially noted to be failures, but designers later thought of them as successful.[3]
The New Faces Team was created to offset the remaining top three characters. Their members were developed to be the Hero Team’s counterparts; Chris manipulates fire like Kyo, Shermie uses lightings like Benimaru Nikaido and Yashiro Nanakase is a giant man like Goro Daimon.[4] The plot element of Chris acting as Orochi’s new body was developed since initial stages of production, but the staff had already though of using other idea.[5] At the inception of production, the plan was for Chris to use the “Flame of Darkness (Black Flame),” but due to difficulties of seeing the black flame in the screen it was changed to the purple ones.[6] The final boss character, Orochi, was first meant to be “a buck-naked Chris” fighting with a shining energy ball. However, it was opted to his current design after developers made a survey in which there were only two votes in favour of the first design. His design codename was “Chief”, but several people were against of giving him the name of “Orochi”.[7]
Iori Yagami in his Orochi form was originally meant to be the final boss of the game after the player beats the New Faces Team in their Orochi forms. However, it later decided to make Orochi Iori the mid-boss with Orochi becoming the final boss and the New Faces Team the sub-bosses.[8] Series’ flagship director, Toyohisa Tanabe, states that the staff was initially reluctant to add this version of Iori to the series’ roster—worried about fans’ reactions—but did so to add more impact to the Orochi saga’s climax. He was particularly pleased to see surprised reactions from female fans to this form during KOF ’97′s location testing.[9] After deciding Iori as the sub-boss character, developers also were focused in adding Leona as an alternative sub-boss character if players were already using Iori in the game. As such, several advertisements added such as televisions broadcasts sent were given as message to the player about a “fork in the game” to give hints about Orochi Leona.[10]
In The King of Fighters ’96, several moves from Kyo were changed in order to adapt him to the new game system. However, the original moveset was still popular between gamers and as such, an alternative version from Kyo was added to KOF ’97.[11] The introduction of this version was noted to be “a hit” within gamers, the staff kept adding new alternative versions of other characters to the sequels. This later led to the creation of the Kyo clones (Kyo-1 and Kyo-2) from The King of Fighters ’99.[12]
Releases
The King of Fighters ’97 was first released in Japanese arcades on July 28, 1997. It was ported to the Neo Geo and Neo Geo CD on September 25, 1997 and October 30, 1997, respectively. A PlayStation version was also released on May 28, 1998. The Sega Saturn version was published on March 26, 1998 and it requires the same 1MB RAM cartridge utilized by the previous game. A “Saturn Best Collection” was released on October 1, 1998, adding a new cover and a lower price.[13] It was also compilated in The King of Fighters Collection: The Orochi Saga in 2008 for the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and Wii.[14] During its release week, the Sega Saturn port of the game sold 94,327 copies in Japan. As of 2004, the sales went to
The King of Fighters ’98 (commonly abbreviated as KOF ’98) is a 1998 fighting game released by SNK released for the Neo Geo arcade and home console. It is the fifth game in The King of Fighters series. This installment was advertised by SNK as a “special edition” of the series, as it featured most of the characters who appeared in the previous games (from KOF ’94 to ’97), regardless of whether the character was killed off in the series’ ongoing storyline (which would resumed in the following game in the series with a new story arc).
Ports of KOF’ 98 were released for the Neo-Geo CD and the PlayStation. A Dreamcast version also released titled The King of Fighters: Dream Match 1999, which featured much of the stages remade in 3D. The game was also remade for the PlayStation 2 under the name of The King of Fighters ’98: Ultimate Match which expanded the number of playable characters.
As KOF ’98 did not feature a storyline, the SNK staff took this opportunity to add Rugal (who died in KOF ’95) as well as various alternate versions from various characters to the game. KOF ’98 has been commonly praised by several video game publications as the best KOF from the series due to its graphics and gameplay. Ultimate Match, however, was criticized for how similar it is to KOF ’98.

Grand chase

While gameplay in Grand Chase is primarily keyboard-driven, the game menu’s interface is, by contrast, primarily mouse-driven, although some in-game key commands may be user-defined. Due to the combos and special attacks, the game has a feel that is similar to side-scrolling fighting games such as Street Fighter 2 or Double Dragon, while the appearance and design of the backdrops, as well as the characters and monster, puts the game in an anime-esque setting. While it is an action game, the designers took care to not make a “button masher”.[4]

The game is free-to-play, where players need to earn currency known as Game Points (GP) from completing dungeon quests, individual missions, or defeating other players to buy better equipments or items, but there are some items that can only be purchased with real-world currency. In Grand Chase, players start off role-playing as one of three main heroines, and will be able to unlock more playable characters by completing specific missions. However, the player may freely switch among the characters he or she has unlocked between missions, each with their own specific equipment and experience level.

Sega schedules Tournament of Legends for May 18

game free pc full version download High Voltage Software’s M-for-Mature Wii-exclusive fighter Gladiator A.D. resurfaces with T-for-Teen targeted fantasy makeover. The team behind the Wii first-person shooter The Conduit is reuniting for another go at Nintendo’s console. Sega today announced that it will be partnering with High Voltage Software for Tournament of Legends. Tournament of Legends features a

cast of fantasy archetypes, including the minotaur here. Set for release on the Wii, Tournament of Legends is a fantasy-focused 3D fighting game. Players will be able to jump into one-on-one battles with a roster of mythological combatants, including a minotaur, gorgon, golem, gladiator, valkyrie, and more. The fantasy focus follows through to the fights themselves, as players will be able to cast magic and summon assistance from the likes of man-eating lions and venomous snakes in their fights. The game is being built on High Voltage’s Quantum 3 engine, the same technology behind The Conduit and the studio’s other announced game, The Grinder. Tournament of Legends is a revamped version of High Voltage’s Gladiator A.D., announced last year without a publisher attached. But where that game featured a grim, almost certainly M-for-Mature-rated take, Sega confirmed for GameSpot that it is targeting a T-for-teen rating for Tournament of Legends. Gladiator A.D. looked awfully different, but some details (like the level architecture) are still recognizable. The apparent toning down of Gladiator A.D. into Tournament of Champions marks an about face for Sega, which had been a prominent publisher of Wii titles aimed at older gamers. Last year, the company released the M-for-Mature-rated duo of House of the Dead: Overkill and PlatinumGames’ MadWorld. Although those games’ sales were passable and disappointing, respectively, Sega president and COO Mike Hayes in August told Wired that the company was still open to adult-focused titles on Nintendo’s system. Tournament of Legends will debut in North American on May 18. The European launch is set for an unspecified May arrival.

The Whispered World

The game The Whispered World free pc download protagonist of this odd tale is Sadwick the Sorrowful Clown, a sad-sack kid in a jester’s costume. He looks a lot like Eeyore, Winnie the Pooh’s depressive donkey sidekick, with the tails of his jester’s hat taking the place of long floppy ears. Sadwick is also just as down in the dumps as Eeyore but with good reason–he’s the human cannonball and resident whipping boy for a small family circus. Grandpa can never
remember his name. Bother Ben treats him like some kind of indentured servant and insults his artistic ambitions to write poetry or perform legitimate theater. And he’s having constant nightmares about the end of the world, which in this case is a medieval fantasy land of sorts

filled with magic and far-off kingdoms. The only creature that loves this clown is his pet “caterpillar” Spot, a green globular character that looks like the Shmoo from ’80s Saturday morning cartoons that can similarly morph into different shapes like balls on demand. Spot lets his cuteness do the talking, remaining silent through the entire game with the exception of the odd squeak. He really serves as more of a tool that allows Sadwick to explore places he can’t get into than as any sort of adventuring companion.
Most of the story centers on Sadwick’s search for adventure. After spending the first few minutes of the game getting told off by his jerk of a brother and senile grandfather, he wanders into the woods and runs into a goblinlike messenger from the far-off kingdom of Corona. The king is sick and the realm may fall to a race of beings called the Asgil, so the only hope is to get a magic item called the Whispering Stone back to the castle quickly. A seer of sorts named Shana is apparently the only one who can help get the stone, but when Sadwick finds her, she goes into a trance and tells him that he is fated to destroy the world…just the kind of thing that every clinically depressed clown wants to hear. Sadwick can’t bring himself to tell her this when she awakens, however, so he lies and says she actually prophesied that he would save the world. At this point, she gives him a few vague tips on how to do so and the quest begins in earnest.
Unfortunately, you feel like you’ve done it all before. The Whispered World may be loaded with story and atmosphere, featuring striking painted backgrounds, character animations straight out of a great cartoon, and a haunting piano/flute musical theme, but everything is overdone. Some of the charm of this dreamy fairytale is lost because there is too much dialogue. Every rock and bush comes with commentary from Sadwick, and most of the conversations go on endlessly, through what seems to be a dozen or more options in branching dialogue trees. At first, this florid script immerses you in the story. An hour or so later, listening to all of this meandering jibber-jabber builds the tedium up so much that you’ll just scan the lines and click through them as quickly as possible. Voice acting quality is hit and miss, too. Some characters are very bland, while others are overwrought, and at regular intervals, a bug causes voices to go silent until you restart the game. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, however, because Sadwick speaks with a nasally whine (again, like Eeyore) that makes you want to smack him. Atmosphere as conveyed by the outstanding art is also a bit much because it is so detailed that items blend into backgrounds. Every locale is just crammed with great little touches, from all of the junk strewn around Sadwick’s trailer to the throne room in the castle at Corona. So while it’s great to just gawk at all of this art, it’s not so great to have to highlight the many clickable objects on every screen with the spacebar in order to keep the game from turning into an annoying pixel hunt.
The puzzles are very derivative. This is an old-fashioned adventure, like Sierra and LucasArts used to make, where you have to pick up everything that isn’t nailed down no matter how stupid it might seem. Common sense is trampled on much of the time. Sadwick just has no reason to grab some things, like his grandfather’s crusty old handkerchief, yet you make him do it anyway because you know that you’ll eventually be able to MacGyver some essential gadget out of even the smallest piece of refuse. Actually solving many puzzles is also virtually impossible because of the incredible leaps in logic necessary to figure things out. At one point, for instance, you need to grab some pantaloons stuck high up on a wall. You have a ladder. Simple, right? Not really. Instead of simply climbing the ladder, you have to close a door to see a mouse hole in the wall behind it, lure the mouse out with a sock, grab the mouse, and then dangle it by its tail on top of the wall above the pantaloons, where the little rodent grabs said puffy pants with his teeth. The human cannonball puzzle is even more insane, forcing you to do absurd things like make a sculpture out of tree resin, stone turtles, grandpa’s dentures, and bear claws to scare your brother into dropping his objections to your stealing (another) pair of pantaloons and a red juggling ball. Your head hurts just thinking about this stuff. At least the handful or so of set piece brainteasers are involving and challenging, even if they mostly rely on old genre standards. These include sliding tiles, moving chess pieces, and mixing chemicals to make various meals and potions.
In short, The Whispered World is beautiful, yet treacherous. Although the game has many strong points in the dreamlike storyline, gorgeous painted art, and detailed script loaded with dialogue, it is too slavish an imitation of the old adventure game formula to be completely enjoyable two decades after the heyday of Sierra and LucasArts. Going retro is one thing; forcing adventurers to wrangle with pixel hunts and riddles that you have no chance of figuring out without a walk-through is something else entirely

Hellgate: London

Hellgate: London GAME FOR PC  is a dark fantasy themed action role-playing game developed by Flagship Studios, released on October 31, 2007. It was developed by a team headed by former Blizzard Entertainment employees, some of whom had overseen the creation of the Diablo series. In 2008 Flagship Studios filed bankruptcy and all intellectual property was seized

because it was used as collateral for funding received from Comerica Bank. Subsequently, development of the game halted. Namco Bandai Games provided free ongoing US/EU server support in the fall of Flagship Studios until 31 January 2009, when the US/EU multiplayer game servers and websites were taken offline.[5] HanbitSoft has since acquired properties to the game and it is being developed and played in Korea to date.[6] As of 2010, Hanbitsoft has acquired the US/EU territory rights and will be re-releasing back to the US/EU territories with its sequel Hellgate London: Resurrection.
Set in a post-apocalyptic London in the year 2038, Hellgate: London is a fast paced action role playing ‘hack and slasher’. The game featured both singleplayer and online multiplayer support when it was released although US/EU online support has since shutdown. Flagship Studios released 1 major MP content update The Stonehenge Chronicles and the 2nd The Abyss Chronicles on the test server before the studio’s closure. Similar to the Diablo series, randomization is embedded into many of the game mechanics including weapon and armor attributes, item drops, mob spawns and level composition. The singleplayer version features a 5 act story quest line and when completed, the player is eligible to restart the story line again in Nightmare difficulty and create new characters in Elite mode

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood 2011 is a historical fantasy third person, stealth action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2010, and will be released for Microsoft Windows in March 2011. The game is a direct sequel to Assassin’s Creed II, with Ezio Auditore da Firenze and Desmond Miles returning as the main protagonists, and it takes place right after the conclusion of the previous game’s story. It is the first game in the main series to feature a multiplayer mode

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is a third person action-adventure video game with main emphasis on sandbox style gameplay in an open world of Italy. Like the previous installments, the gameplay’s core mechanics are based on parkour movements, crowd-blending stealth, assassinations and melee fighting system. The combat system features several improvements and for the first time in the series, the game offers a multiplayer mode alongside 40+ hours of single-player gameplay

The game introduces a brand-new management system: the player can recruit new members by destroying any of twelve “Borgia towers” around Rome where papal troops are stationed, then rescuing disgruntled citizens in their districts from harassing guards. The player, as Ezio, can then send them to assignments around Europe or call them for support during missions (if they are not already occupied). The assassin recruits are also able to provide arrow support for the player. Tasking the novice Assassins is essential to make them gain experience, and the player is able to customize their appearance, skills and weapon training by spending the skill points they’ve earned. Assassins can die on missions, from which they will not return. Ezio masters new gadgets, such as Leonardo da Vinci’s parachute, which can be used when jumping from tall buildings,[6] along with poison darts, a faster acting poison, a crossbow, and the ability to hold and throw heavier weapons like axes.

Ezio using the BAM system (Brotherhood Assist Move

The player has to rebuild Rome, which has fallen into ruin due to the corrupt rule of the Templars over the Papal States and concentrating all the wealth in the Vatican. Just like the town of Monteriggioni in Assassin’s Creed II, the player is able to invest in the city and witness its development and unlock rewards.[7] The player has to conquer and destroy Borgia towers to free city zones from the family’s influence.[6] Completing this unlocks new missions and opportunities. Rome is the biggest city ever created after the first two installments (Rome is three times bigger than Florence from Assassin’s Creed II[6]) and includes five varied districts: Vatican, Downtown, Tiber, Country and Antique. Unlike the previous installments, travel between different cities or regions is no longer present, as most of the action in the game takes place around the city of Rome. Instead, a series of tunnel networks throughout the city allow the player to travel to different sectors of the city with ease. However players will be able to explore the entire city of Rome, visit a part of Naples, Spain and Monteriggioni.

The combat system has been upgraded to be faster and more dynamic. Striking first and offensive actions are more deadly in Brotherhood than previous games where counter-attacks were the most efficient. Before, this made the player wait until the AI struck, which slowed down the pace of fighting. The AI in this game is thus more aggressive and enemies can attack simultaneously. To dispatch them, Ezio can use melee and ranged weapons at the same time, as well as introducing the hidden pistol in combat. After killing one enemy the player can start an execution streak to dispatch multiple enemies quickly. Ezio can throw axes and spears toward his enemies. There are new enemy archetypes in addition to those seen in Assassin’s Creed II such as horsemen, arquebusiers, papal guards and others.

Horses play a larger role in Brotherhood, not only used as a means of transport (inside the city for the first time), but as a component of acrobatic sequences and advanced combat as well, allowing ranged weapons to be used while riding them. Brotherhood also introduces various types of horse-related assassinations, featuring horse-to-horse assassinations. There are environmental objects like the flower pot in Assassin’s Creed II to move faster inside the city (a system of tunnels around the city allow fast travel), as well as new objects such as merchandise lifts to quickly climb up high buildings or structures

Multiplayer

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood is the first game in the main series to feature a multiplayer mode. It was heralded by many at E3 2010, where it was showcased for the first time. GameTrailers lauded it as the Best Multiplayer Game of the show.[9] The multiplayer portion of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood was generally well-received by critics

The players are Templars in training at the Abstergo facility. They use the animi (plural for animus) seen at the beginning of Assassin’s Creed II to access memories of Assassins and to acquire their skills using the “bleeding effect”. There are eight game modes (Wanted, Alliance, Manhunt, Chest Capture, Advanced Wanted, Advanced Alliance, Escort and Assassinate) and different maps, including the areas from the second and the third game like Florence, as well as new maps like Rome, Castel Gandolfo, Siena and Mont Saint-Michel The gameplay in multiplayer mode is similar to the core gameplay of the series, as players are required to use their assassination and stealth skills. The players must hunt down targets while being hunted themselves. Players earn points by performing assassinations, defending against pursuers, attaining bonuses or completing mode-specific objectives

The multiplayer mode also includes a leveling system, which allows players to unlock rewards by earning experience points during the matches and gaining new levels. Players can then unlock abilities, perks and streaks. Abilities are active skills, which can be used again only after a cooldown time. Perks are passive skills, which can be equipped before the match and they are active all the time. Streaks are bonuses awarded for reaching certain number of successful or failed contracts

The multiplayer beta, exclusively for PlayStation 3 users, was announced at E3 2010.[13] It began on 4 October 2010, with early access for Playstation Plus subscribers from 27 September,[12] and ended on 18 October 2010. Three maps were playable in the beta: Rome, Castel Gandolfo and Siena.[14][15]

Game modes

Free-For-All

In Wanted, at least six players are dropped on a map where they must find and assassinate each other. However, the rule is not the one of a standard deathmatch but rather a cat-and-mouse game. Each player is given another player as a target. The goal is to find and kill a target without being seen or killed by the player’s own pursuer or pursuers. If the player breaks cover, they are more easily spotted by pursuer or target alike, sometimes resulting in a chase sequence. The player with the highest score at the end of the session wins. Players will lose their contract if they kill an NPC, are stunned by their target or their target is killed by another player. A player cannot kill another player who is not the target, but they can stun their hunter.

Advanced Wanted mode is a variant of Wanted mode, with differences including an increased amount of NPCs on the map to make it difficult to pick out targets, and a less accurate compass. There is generally more stealth involved in this mode than in basic wanted

The Assassinate mode is similar to Wanted, but instead of target contracts being assigned to players, all players are fair game. Players must identify other player characters and lock on before assassinating. Because two players can kill each other, whoever locks on first becomes the hunter and the other becomes the target. The standard compass found in Wanted is replaced by directional arrows based on proximity, that grow become arcs around the perimeter of the compass as other players near, and will eventually create a full circle when other players are very close. As in other modes, the player with the highest score at the end of the session is the winner.

Co-op

In Alliance, there are three teams, each limited to two players, both of which use the same persona. The point of this mode is to get more points than the other teams, but each team is chased by another and is only allowed to kill one specific team (not the team chasing them, but they will be able to stun the team hunting them). This mode encourages players to work together, as teammates can help each other or they can assassinate their targets simultaneously

The Advanced Alliance mode is a variant of Alliance mode, however the players’ compasses as well as target engagement becomes more difficult, similar to the Advanced Wanted mode.

Team

In Manhunt there are two teams of four. One team is the hunters, the other is the hunted. Each team looks like a specific character and takes turns being the hunter and the hunted. Hunters obtain points by assassinations, while the hunted obtain points from escapes, stuns, and remaining hidden. The team with the highest score wins.[16] Advanced Manhunt follows the same pattern as the other two Advanced modes (more NPC’s, less reliable compass, etc)

In Chest Capture there are two teams of four. One team is the hunters, and the other is the hunted who need to steal chests by standing close to them. Each team looks like a specific character and takes turns being the hunter and the hunted. Hunters obtain points by assassinations, while the hunted obtain points from escapes, stuns, and stealing chests. The team with the highest score wins.

The Escort mode sees one team of four players protecting a wandering NPC while the other team of four tries to assassinate him. There are two NPCs to protect at a time and they walk through a series of checkpoints, which are visible to both teams. When an escorted NPC is killed, another is synchronized. This mode has two rounds with each team playing once as escort and once as assassins. Characters

Players are able to choose one of the 21 available characters: Courtesan, Barber, Priest, Noble, Prowler, Executioner, Doctor, Blacksmith, Captain, Smuggler, Engineer,[17][18] Footpad,[19][20] Thief, Hellequin (a female Harlequin, which is available through uPlay) and Mercenary. Two special characters were only available in the selected pre-order editions of the game: the Harlequin and the Officer. However, these two pre-order special characters are also included in The Da Vinci Disappearance downloadable content as are the formerly pre-order only Trajan Market and Aqueducts special locations. The pack contains 4 new characters, Dama Rossa, Knight, Marquis, and Pariah. Each character has unique assassination moves and a signature weapon.[21] Characters can be customized as the player levels up. These customization options include changing the color of the outfit, and equipping different gear

Plot

A portrait of Cesare Borgia by Altobello Melone

The main story is set in 2012. After escaping the Templars’ attack at the end of Assassin’s Creed II, Desmond Miles and other modern-day Assassins go to Monteriggioni and set up a new hideout in the ruins of Villa Auditore. After restoring the electricity in the old tunnels under the villa, the player once again takes control of Ezio Auditore through the genetic memory of Desmond Miles using the Animus 2.0 which is the game’s memory interface

Ezio’s story begins in 1499 as he exits the vault, still confused by what he saw inside. He escapes Rome with his uncle Mario Auditore and arrives at Monteriggioni. There, Machiavelli challenges Ezio’s decision to leave Rodrigo Borgia, the pope, alive. Soon after that, Ezio’s city is besieged by Cesare Borgia, son of Rodrigo Borgia. The Assassins are overpowered by this attack and the entire city is left in ruins. Mario is killed in the attack, after being shot by Cesare, and the Apple of Eden, the mysterious artifact of great power, is lost to Cesare Borgia and the Templars. Ezio escapes with his family and travels to Rome, the center of the Templar Order in Italy. Once there, he discovers that the Assassins are failing in their fight. Determined to redeem the Guild, Ezio must convince the current leader of the Assassins, Machiavelli, that he has what it takes to lead, while assembling a Brotherhood powerful enough to destroy the Templars and Ezio’s new arch-nemesis, Cesare Borgia.

During the attack on the Villa, Ezio’s ally Caterina Sforza was taken away by Cesare’s army. While trying to rescue Caterina from the Castel Sant Angelo, Ezio witnesses Cesare passionately kissing his sister, Lucrezia Borgia. Once Cesare has left, Ezio is able to sneak into the Castel, hold Lucrezia hostage, and use her to free Caterina from her cell. Ezio brings a mysterious thief, La Volpe, the condottiere Bartolomeo d’Alviano and his sister, Claudia into the guild, recruiting the city’s underground of thieves, courtesans and mercenaries to his cause. He then attacks each of Cesare’s resources. He kills Cesare’s Banker, Juan Borgia, withdrawing Cesare’s battle funds. He kills the leader of the French troops helping Cesare, the Baron de Valois, leaving the troops in disarray. After proving to all that he can lead, Ezio is made head of the Assassin’s guild, and promoted to the rank of Il Mentore.

During all of the previous missions, as in Assassin’s Creed II, Subject 16 has placed hidden file fragments inside the Animus landscape in Brotherhood. Once all of the fragments have been found and deciphered, the consolidated file loads a framework-like level in the Animus. Desmond makes his way through it and at the end encounters a virtual copy of Subject 16, whose body is made up of code. His speech is scattered and vague, but he tries to warn Desmond that there is little time left. He says that “it is too late to save them” and that “she is not who you think she is.” He tells Desmond to find Eve in Eden and that her DNA is the key. He then suddenly says, “The sun. Your son,” and trails off. Desmond tells him not to go, to which 16 replies, “I am with you till the end. Find me in the darkness.” He then disappears and the framework world collapses.

Towards the end of the game, Rodrigo becomes suspicious of his son’s activities. Cesare returns to Rome to ask his father for more money and the use of the Apple of Eden artifact after Ezio cuts his funding. His father refuses to give him more funds and, instead, attempts to murder him using a poisoned apple. Cesare, saved from death by his sister’s warning, turns the tables on his father by shoving the poisoned apple in his mouth when Rodrigo refuses to reveal the location of the Apple of Eden. When Cesare storms off to look for the artifact – destroying his relationship with his sister in the process – Ezio races ahead and uses the Apple to destroy Cesare’s army and to make his supporters withdraw their backing from his campaign to become Prince of Italy. When all of his “friends” have abandoned him, Cesare is arrested by the new Pope’s Papal Army for murder and incest, finally leaving Rome in peace.

Ezio, however, is not convinced, and so uses the Apple to check up on Cesare. He discovers that the Borgia Captain General will escape from his prison and launch an attack on a small city in Navarre. Ezio arrives and corners Cesare on the battlements of a crumbling castle. Ezio and Cesare engage in a sword fight, but Ezio overpowers his enemy. Cesare, however, claims he cannot be killed by the hand of man, and so Ezio decides to “let fate decide”. He drops Cesare off the castle battlements, therefore not directly killing him. Ezio then takes the apple and hides it in a place in which no one will find it – another temple, this one built underneath Santa Maria in Aracoeli, within The Temple of Juno.

Using the co-ordinates taken from Ezio’s memories, Desmond, Lucy, Shaun and Rebecca open the temple, intending to use the Apple to locate the remaining temples in order to keep the other Pieces of Eden out of the Templars’ hands. As Desmond makes his way into the temple, he is confronted with holographic apparitions of a being called Juno, who appears to be of the same race as Minerva in Assassin’s Creed II; however, she is neither audible nor visible to Lucy, Shaun, or Rebecca. Most of her comments center around humanity’s lack of knowledge. She states that humanity is “innocent and ignorant”: that people were not built to be wise, having been given only five of the six senses, sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing, but lacking knowledge. However, Juno says that when the initial disaster that wiped out the first people came to pass, they tried to “pass it on through the blood”; it is implied that this sense is Desmond’s “eagle vision”, which is passed on through the Assassin bloodlines. Her careful cadence then drops as she suddenly becomes angry, yelling “We should have left you as you were!”

A staircase leading to the Apple is activated and Desmond and the others ascend it. Desmond approaches the Apple and glowing symbols begin to appear in the air. As Shaun starts to explain what they are, Desmond touches the Apple. His DNA activates it and suddenly they are all frozen, although Desmond can still speak. Juno cryptically says that Desmond is descended from her race and their enemy (Speculation:The 72nd descendant of Altaïr and Maria from AC1. One is an Assassin, the other is a Templar. Another is the fusion of those who came before and humanity). She then says that there is a woman who is supposed to accompany him through “the gate”, but she is not with him. She says, “The cross darkens the horizon,” a possible reference to the Templars, and takes control of Desmond’s body, forcing him to draw his hidden blade saying, “The Path must be opened,” and that “the scales must be balanced”. She then begins to force Desmond to walk towards Lucy. Desmond pleads with her to stop, but she replies, “You know so very little. We must guide you!” and he is forced to stab Lucy in the abdomen. Then, as the credits roll Juno can be heard saying “It is done”. Two male voices are heard during the credits saying to “put him back into the Animus

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood was developed by Ubisoft Montreal. Montreal also worked on both of the other Assassin’s Creed games in the series and was thus chosen to lead production for the third installment.

A new Assassin’s Creed episode featuring multiplayer was announced during Ubisoft’s 2009 fiscal third quarter results while not revealing its name. In early May 2010, a GameStop employee published on the internet some images of a pre-order box featuring the Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood title while Ubisoft was teasing the game on Facebook and Twitter. Ubisoft then confirmed the authenticity of these pictures.[24] Brotherhood has not been numbered unlike Assassin’s Creed II because players, and even developers themselves would have expected a new setting and a new ancestor while this is only the continuation of Ezio’s story.[25]

While still in development, creative director Patrice Désilets left before the game’s presentation at the E3 2010. Ubisoft and production manager Jean-Francois Boivin stated that he only took a “creative break” after completing his task on Brotherhood.[26]

A teaser trailer of the multiplayer mode was released on the official site before the E3. A cinematic debut trailer was diffused during Ubisoft’s E3 2010 press conference along a walkthrough of the game’s beginning.

The game was developed primarily by Ubisoft Montreal in Canada. Production was aided in part by four other Ubisoft developers: Annecy, Singapore, Bucharest and Québec City. The multiplayer mode is mainly developed by Ubisoft Annecy, the studio responsible for creating multiplayer mode in Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory.[27][28] Ubisoft also announced plans for DLC after the game’s launch. Two sets of free DLC have already been released under the names “Animus Project Update 1.0″ and “Animus Project Update 2.0″. The first includes the new map Mont Saint-Michel and one new mode, Advanced Alliance. The “Animus Project Update 2.0″ was released in January 2011, was also free, and included another map, mode and the introduction of a player grading system.[6] From the perspective of performance, Ubisoft have commented that they hope the gaps between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will be even smaller with Brotherhood.[29]

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood reached gold status on October 28, 2010.[30]

The Microsoft Windows version will have Nvidia 3D Vision and multi screen support through AMD Eyefinity.[22]

Music

The music in the game was composed by Jesper Kyd, who created the scores to previous Assassin’s Creed games.[4] The soundtrack was released digitally on November 16, 2010
